He is expected to give evidence later this month on whether he deliberately deceived MPs. Despite the report being an update rather than a conclusion, Johnson was quick to say that it cleared him of the charge of treating Parliament with contempt, reiterating his argument that he was not aware of that any gatherings were in violation of their own coronavirus rules.
